Crime affects the individual and their surroundings because due to influence, loads of people around them such as family, friends, peers, celebrities, media, laws around them.

What causes people to commit crime?

What causes people to commit crime is when ones heart is hardened for decision based on ones self and not including others before ones self; such as psychologically being filled with lust, lacking parental skills, peer influence, hatred, jealosy, anger, greed, power, pride, lacking social skills and mental disorder. Poor people steal to get money; Peer pressure, jealousy and ignorance.
